This flower, shrouded in legends and magical symbolism, is considered a symbol of courage and true love. Listed in the Red Book, it is endangered and needs attention and careful treatment. In France it is known as “Mountain Star", in Italy - as "Rock Flower", and in the Ukrainian Carpathians - as "Silk Braid". The Edelweiss flower has gained its fame all over the world thanks to its unique beauty and incredible resistance. Her extraordinary vitality is admirable. Thanks to the unique pubescence of the flower, this plant is able to withstand various temperature changes, rarefied air and the sunlight of the highlands. In the past, there was a legend among the Hutsuls that a man, having found an edelweiss, could give it to his bride and marry her. This flower symbolized love and served as an important talisman for couples in love.
