Description
Description
In some of the earliest artistic traditions of Europe, the wreath appears on the heads of nymphs — female nature spirits in Greek mythology. In ancient Rome, it served as a symbol of honor bestowed upon victors. In France, Ukraine and Italy, it became part of festive attire tied to wedding and seasonal rituals.
The gold choker mirrors the form of a wreath — a piece of adornment that marks a ceremonial moment.
At its center is an anemone, a mountain flower found in the Alps, Carpathians and Pyrenees, known for blooming first after the snow melts. The anemone symbolizes nature’s early awakening and combines fragility with inner strength — an image often preserved in 19th-century art.
A diamond line completes the composition, echoing the ribbons traditionally woven into wreaths.
